So here’s the crochet version of “Knit the Easiest Socks Ever”. I mean why not, right? If this beautiful socks can be achieved in knitting technique, so can crochet technique. And that’s how I made this version. If you’ve seen the knitting one, I’m sure you’ll know how easy it was to construct the socks. If you haven’t I’ll put the link below for you to find, or just go to my patterns here on my website.

So this piece is made in one flat rectangular piece and sewn up from the sides and edges to give shape to a beautiful socks. I hope you’ll enjoy this very easy to follow pattern.

Here goes the free pattern:

Materials:

1)      4 mm crochet hook

2)      Worsted weight yarn (color and brand of your choice)

3)      Wide-eye needle to sew

4)      Scissors/thread cutter

5)      Measuring tape or inches scale

Abbreviations:

1)      R= Row

2)      Sc= Single crochet

3)      St = stitch

4)      sc2tog=  single crochet 2 st together

5)      Slp = slip

6)      Ch = Chain

Gauge:  6 rows = 1 inch

Pattern: (Small Size)

Ch
30 + 1

R1: sc into the 2nd
ch from the hook, and sc all across (30)

R2: ch 1 (does not
count as sc) turn, 30 sc across (30)

R3-38: Repeat Row 2 (30)

R39: ch1 turn, 1sc, sc2tog  (x 14), 1sc. Do not cut off the yarn yet

Edging:Now put 2sc into the last st that you’ve worked on, since there’s already 1 sc from when you put in your last sc; then put 1sc into every stitch down the first side, 3sc into the corner st., 1 sc across the base ch, 3sc into corner, finally 1sc in every st up the other side and 3sc into the last st. Slp st into the next 2 sts, ch1 and cut off the yarn by leaving a long tail.

You can also watch the visual tutorial here for better understanding.

Sewing to form the socks:

1)      With the long tail towards your right hand, pass the needle in an out through the decreased stitches, pull the yarn to close the toe area, secure it.

Do not close off the gap completely if you want to get the cute little hole effect on the toe.

2) Align the two sides perfectly

3) Wip stitch it through only the front loop of both the sides

4) Stitch it up to half of its length, fasten off. Hide the extra tails.

             5)     Stitch up the back (heel area) by a simple wip stitch. Hide all extra tail.

              6)     Turn your work inside out, and that’s it. Congratulations! You’ve made a                         beautiful socks with very simple and basic steps.

    1. Hi Maria, its quite simple to make it bigger. Just chain a few more stitches (3 or 4) from the given st count in the pattern and extend the rectangle to the desired foot size.
