Hello gorgeous! I hope this post finds you in good health. I took some time to come up with this pattern as I was working on some other projects. But in the wake of COVID-19, I felt the need to make it.

I took the measurements from my old mask, tried chaining it to get the right size. I kept referring to the old mask the whole time as the rows increased.

Oh yes, a special bonus of this project is the addition of fabric for comfort and much more. You can actually put a filter to it which made it much more interesting, cool and valuable apart from the cute colour play. Check them out.

Here goes the pattern.

Do the same for ‘Corner C’ and ‘Corner D’

Or

Loose strap:

From ‘Corner A’ – ch 65, knot it 2-3 times.

Repeat the same for ‘Corner B, C, & D’. Hide all the extra tails.

                        Closed Strap

                          Open Strap

Which strap do you prefer, Closed or Open? Choose anyone and make it your own.

Personally, I like the Open strap slightly better because its more flexible and adjustable with anyone, like how loose or tight you want it to be. But the choice is yours.

So this is the crochet part. If you want, you can stop right here. But I thought its even more beautiful and better when you include a piece of of soft cotton fabric. It gives much more comfort and protect our masks better.

Better yet, you can put some filters if you want. OMG that added so much value to the mask.

So I’ve made a whole PDF file which is instantly downloadable along with picture illustrations on how to add the fabrics to it. It has so much value and looks when this is done. So you can go and get the PDF  for a minimum price right here. Click on the “GET PATTERN HERE” button to access it.

I have already made a video tutorial on how to make a double layer mask with the facility to insert filter if you wish too. “DIY easy and Emergency Mask at Home”

Made this pattern because of the concerns of COVID-19 for my community back home where people have access to very less medical facility let alone masks. If you don’t have sewing machine, you need not worry, its a hand sewn tutorial. If you do have a sewing machine, well and good, it’d be faster.

So feel free to check out the video on my YouTube Channel if you want. Hope you’d benefit from it.

Enjoy the pattern. I’m dying to see how you play around and come up with a cool color combinations. If you end up making one of these masks, please do tag me on my social media pages. Would love to see your work.

Please feel free to post any questions if you have, and also give your opinions on it by commenting below.

Enjoy the pattern! Happy Crochet!!
